GOVERNMENT CONTROL

Governments should have very little control over its citizens.  No freedom should be taken away from people under any circumstances.  Governments should only have a basic control on its people. For example citizens should follow the rules that the government set, like laws. Governments should also force citizens to pay taxes, so the government can create a better society. Although governments should force people to follow some rules, the government should not have the right to tell you how to live your life. They should not take away your freedom or your rights as a citizen. Governments should have a little control in our lives, as long as they are not taking away your freedom.

THE TRUMAN SHOW

In the movie “The Truman Show” we can see how the government has total control over Truman and he had no freedom at all. The directors/creators of the TV show forced Truman to stay in Seaheaven. Whenever Truman tried to leave Seaheaven something prevented him leaving. Truman had no choices that he could ever make. He could not decide anything about his life, whether it was where he lived, where he worked. Truman had no choices, every choice was made by the directors of the show, he did not even have the choice to know the truth about his life. This is what a controlling government can be if it takes away peoples freedom.

A government is necessary for a society to be in order, otherwise everything would be disorganized and there would be no order what so ever. Governments should not take advantage of their power, and use it wisely to make a better society. Governments should have little control over its people but it must take no freedom away from its citizens.
